Role purpose
Extend the current cloud-based Portfolio Management proposition through functional enhancement of the solution stack. This will entail uplifting the current codebase and writing new services and functions.
Working within the growing UK domain as part of a new team to support the Portfolio Management Solution, you will contribute to the design, development, delivery and support of business solutions adhering to the software development life cycle and development process.
Accountabilities & Deliverables
- Contribute to the design and development of software components within a defined quality standard
- Resolve issues, defects and queries raised at any phase of development or production in a timely and professional manner
- Follow configuration management processes to deploy code
- Understand and follow the development processes, protocols, methods and tools
- Conduct quality reviews of own deliverables and deliverables from peers
- Provide sizing on technical development tasks
- Report progress regularly, escalating matters as appropriate
Key Relationships
- You will work very closely with your engineering team, to deliver your joint project goals
- You will liaise with your team lead, ensuring development is completed within agreed quality levels
- You will also work closely with other engineering teams and colleagues across the business, to ensure the overall project goals are successfully delivered
- Your team lead will meet with you regularly to discuss your personal progress against objectives and development plans.
Core Skills, Knowledge and Attributes
- Experience of a project through the life cycle of development and into production
- Knowledge and experience in developing within an object-oriented development environment
- Experience in developing service-oriented architectures
- Knowledge and experience in developing within an agile project framework
- Knowledge of source control, release management (automated or otherwise), task management and working within a team environment (including application lifecycle management)
- Knowledge of unit testing and general test automation
- Knowledge of Financial Services solutions (Financial Markets, Wealth and Trading).
Strong technical knowledge of the following
- Python
- Javascript/Typescript
- Node
- React/Redux
- APIs (REST architecture, asynchronous messaging patterns)
- AWS
- MS SQL Server or other RDBMS
- Automated integration and unit testing frameworks (e.g. NUnit)
- Object Orientated Design.
Knowledge or Experience of the following is desirable
- Terraform
- Build Pipelines

- You have good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- You are an analytical thinker, with a logical approach to solutions and problem-solving
- You are able to work well under pressure and manage your own time appropriately
- You are able to work well on an individual basis and within a team
- You are able to seek appropriate support from the engineering community / supporting peers
- You are self-motivated, proactive with a positive attitude
- You have a flexible approach and mindset, and can adapt to changes in projects and priorities.
- You are able to work UK office hours.
- You have Excellent English language skills .
- You are comfortable with a B2B contract.
